Acts 11:1-18 ~ In defense of his earlier baptism of pagan believers, Peter demonstrates to the members of the Jerusalem church that God's intention to love Gentiles as well as Jews is revealed in Jesus' own testimony. In this way the mission at the Gentiles is officially authorized.
John 13:31-35 ~ After washing the disciples' feet, predicting his betrayal, and then revealing his betrayer, Jesus speaks of his glorification on the cross. This deep complicated love of Jesus, even to death on the cross, will be the distinctive mark of Jesus' community.

Psalm 23; Revelation 7:9-17; John 10:22-30
Psalm 23 ~ This beloved psalm expresses the heart of the believer who knows the tender, yet strong, love of god in all the circumstances of life. What does it feel like for you to be in the Lord's flock?
Revelation 7:9-17 ~ What comfort it is to know that we are not alone in our Christian life. John's vision is not so much about "heaven" as it is about earth ~ where we continue to struggle and witness. God is with us to satisfy our hurts and our hopes, so that we can and will worship God day and night, here and now. What value do you place upon worship?
John 10:22-30 ~ Disciples hear the Good Shepherd's voice and follow. We can live with the confidence that the hand of Jesus holds us fast and secure in the love of God. What fears do you need to dispel with this knowledge?

Isaiah 65:17-25; Acts 10:34-43; Luke 24:1-12
Isaiah 65:17-25 ~ Through the prophet, God promises a new heaven and a new earth. Weeping will pass away, life will be abundant for God's people, and the world - including the wild animals - will be at peace.
Acts 10:34-43 ~ Peter's sermon, delivered at the home of Cornelius, a Roman army officer, sums up the essential message of Christianity. Everyone who believes in Jesus, whose life, death, and resurrection fulfilled the words of the prophets, receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
Luke 24:1-12 ~ Evidently expecting to find Jesus' corpse, some of his women followers go to the tomb with embalming spices. After a perplexing encounter with the empty tomb and angelic visitors, the women become the first to proclaim the amazing news of resurrection.
